(Russia) The Russian prosecutor's office has launched an inquiry into a paper and pulp mill suspected of polluting Lake Baikal, the world's largest freshwater reserve, officials said Thursday. The Baikal paper and pulp mill is owned by Basic Element, a holding company controlled by Oleg Deripaska, Russia's richest man according to Forbes magazine.
