Despite a surge in uptake of Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) -accredited paper stocks, public awareness of paper products bearing the badge is just 9%, according to FSC-commissioned research.

A survey of 992 adults, conducted in January by GfKNOP on behalf of FSC, suggested that public recognition of the marque on wood products had grown to 23%, up from 19% in March 2007. Around 45% reported seeing it on wood products, but only 9% noticed it on paper products.
