VANCOUVER, Canada -- A last-ditch bid by Asia Pulp and Paper to gain control of bankrupt Pope & Talbot's Fort St. James sawmill was brought to a halt in B.C. Supreme Court on Thursday, opening the way for a sale at a potentially higher price.
