(USA) Effective April 18, 2008, or as contracts permit, The Dow Chemical Company is increasing prices for all hollow plastic pigment latex products by US$0.11/lb (dry); and for styrene acrylate and vinyl acrylate products by US$0.10/lb (dry) sold by Dow Emulsion Polymers to customers in the United States and Canada serving the paper and paperboard industry.
The price increase is required to help offset the continued rising costs of hydrocarbons, freight and raw materials such as benzene, styrene and butadiene used to manufacture products.
Dow Emulsion Polymers is dedicated to providing the paper and paperboard industry with the widest and most innovative range of styrene butadiene and styrene acrylate latex technologies and is currently the leading manufacturer of S/B latex and solid plastic pigments that are used in coatings for fine papers, publication papers and coated paperboard used in packaging.
