(USA) Legislators and NewPage officials met Tuesday in Washington to discuss providing help to workers losing their jobs as a result of NewPage’s closure of its mill in Niagara.

An estimated 319 employees will be affected by the Niagara mill’s closure, 179 Michigan residents and 140 Wisconsin residents. An additional 125 jobs will be affected by the shut-down of a NewPage machine in Kimberly. Officials were updated on federal and state assistance available to those employees.
