(Finland/Russia/EU) Russia's plan to raise duties on roundwood exports could deal a big blow to the eastern Finnish economy, forcing thousands out of work, according to a study published today.

The report by the Finnish Forest Research Institute warned some 6,000 jobs in the region could be at risk as paper and pulp firms and wood-based goods makers are pushed to cut back production.
