(Canada) Talks between forestry workers and newsprint giant AbitibiBowater (TSX:AXB) broke off Thursday, with the union accusing the company of trying to wring pension concessions from workers as it seeks to lower operating costs.
The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union announced that negotiations between the Montreal company and 30 locals from 13 AbitibiBowater mills ended Thursday afternoon after five days of discussions.
