(USA)--Mar 12, 2009--Clearwater Paper is temporarily laying off 270 hourly employees in the company's sawmill for two weeks starting March 23, as housing starts continue to languish.
The intent is for the workers to return on April 6 and continue doing 30-hour work weeks as they have since the beginning of January, said Matt Van Vleet, a spokesman for Clearwater Paper at its Spokane headquarters.
